It is pretty common if you haven’t heard about this band before and I bet not much people out there would even notice this band since there are many influential bands out there that worth to talk and listen. Actually, Green Police has something more to offer that would differentiate it from other similar bands. Although this short-lived band does not have anything in print or recorded (they only have few singles without anything to be in full-length format) their impact in punk and rock n roll is felt until today.

They took their influence from early punk bands like Black Flag, The Kinks, Pixies, Buzzcocks, and Jawbreaker. Their definitive songs contains of earlier Buzzcocks riffs wrapped in a little surf music. This Claremore Oklahoma four-piece band really knew how to have fun with their distorted guitar layer with up-beat drum tempos that remain us of early punk in 80s and yes, they really came from that magnificent era of hardcore punk.

Their only mistake is that they didn’t have anything in full length format so that later generation would notice and give honor to this punk-blueprint band. Let’s give Green Police a salute and honor. Try to find out their singles around internet because it is impossible to find one in record stores.
